Privacy policy
This policy explains what InviteNest collects from couples and their guests, why, and how long we keep it. We follow India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.
Last updated 5 October 2026
The short version
- We collect only what's needed to make, show and run your invitation.
- We never sell personal data, and we don't show ads.
- Anyone with your invitation link can see your invitation, so share it only with your guests.
- 30 days after an invitation ends, we delete its photos, music and every guest's RSVP details.
- You can ask to see, correct or delete your data at any time.
What we collect from couples
- Account details: your name, email address and, if you give it, your phone number.
- Invitation content: names, family names, photos, music you upload, event details, venues and any links you add.
- Payment details: handled by Razorpay, our payment provider. We see whether a payment succeeded, but we never see or store your card, UPI or bank details.
What we collect from guests
When a guest replies to an invitation, we collect what the RSVP form asks for: their name, how many people are coming, which functions they'll attend and any message they leave. We collect this on behalf of the couple, who can see the replies in their dashboard.
We also count how many times an invitation is opened and which of its links are tapped. These counts aren't linked to a guest's name.
How we use it
- To build, show and host your invitation.
- To pass guests' replies on to the couple.
- To process payments and send receipts.
- To send emails about your invitation, such as reminders before it ends. We don't send marketing emails unless you ask for them.
- To keep the service secure and fix problems.
Your invitation is public to anyone with the link
An invitation isn't password-protected: anyone who has the link can open it. Please don't add anything you wouldn't want a guest to forward, such as home addresses you'd rather keep private.
How long we keep it
- Invitation content and guests' RSVP details: while the invitation is live (until 15 days after the last function, at most 180 days), plus 30 days after it ends. Then they're permanently deleted.
- A short record of each invitation (its link, template, dates and total counts, with no guest details): for as long as you have an account, so you can see your past invitations.
- Payment records and receipts: for as long as Indian tax law requires.
- Your account: until you delete it, or ask us to. A deleted account, and a draft you delete, can be restored for 30 days (log in again, or open Recently deleted in your dashboard). After those 30 days they're permanently deleted.
Your rights
You can ask us to tell you what personal data we hold about you, correct it, or delete it. You can also withdraw your consent, nominate someone to act for you, and raise a complaint. We'll respond within 30 days.
Guests who'd like their reply changed or removed can ask the couple, or write to us directly.
Write to us from the contact page.
Keeping it safe
Data is encrypted in transit, access is limited to the people who need it to run the service, and we keep backups so a fault doesn't lose your invitation. If a breach ever affects your data, we'll tell you and the authorities as the law requires.
Children
Accounts are for adults aged 18 and over. We don't knowingly collect personal data from children.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top of this page and email you about any important change.
