Pookolam
A bare red-oxide courtyard at dawn. Tap the floor and white rice-flour dots appear, the kolam's lines loop between them, and petals fill the rings from the centre out until a full pookalam blooms, with your names in its heart. Shot like a macro photograph from above: guests drop petals and draw rice-flour lines on the floor, each of you sits in a ring of jasmine and roses, the date is written in a kolam that draws itself, and every function is served on the banana leaf, dish by dish.
- Dots, lines, then petals: the kolam blooms
- Each function served on a banana leaf
- Nadaswaram, chenda and a Carnatic violin
Weddings where Tamil and Kerala traditions meet, and any South Indian wedding that loves flowers. Bright and joyful, with an optional blessing and no deity artwork.
